FAQs

Q

What is Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd. specialty?

A

Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd. specializes in all types of cable assembly products and wire harness products. If it uses wire, we probably build it. We also offer electro mechanical assemblies in which we integrate wire assemblies with switches, relays and other products.

Q

What is the difference between a wire harness and a cable assembly?

A

A cable assembly typically will utilize a multi conductor cable (two to several conductors with a separate jacket) integrated with interconnect and/or other devices such as a switch or a relay. A wire harness is generally built upon a harness board and typically utilizes discrete wire (individual conductors). A wire harness can be simple or complex and typically can employ several individual breakouts, individual connectors, switches and relays all integrated and tested as an entire unit or system.

Q

How large of wire can be processed at Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd.?

A

Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd. can process wire from 30 AWG up to 750 MCM. Please call Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd. for requirements outside of these parameters, as we are constantly updating and acquiring new equipment to better serve our customer base.

Q

What is braiding and where is it used?

A

Shivpriya Cables Pvt. Ltd. has 4 braiders in service currently and will be adding three more by the end of 2012. Braiding doubles as abrasion protection as well as a device that will hold a wire together in a tighter more precise bundle. It is applied via specialized machine in a process tailored to our customer’s individual specifications. It is specifically utilized (but not always) in outdoor applications where other products such as corrugated loom or other tubing may retain water in wire loops and other areas. Water will pass through the braiding while still providing abrasion protection. It also can provide a more pleasing aesthetic appearance and more custom finished feel to many designs.

Q

What are Kan Ban and JIT?

A

Kan Ban is a method developed in Japan to provide products to a customer through a direct replenishment program. A variable is determined between business partners and products are available through stocked inventory. When a demand is created the product ships immediately and is then replenished and available again in a predetermined timeframe. The advantage is custom product is then available on an almost immediate basis and lead time is drastically reduced, as well as WIP (Work in Process).

JIT (Just in Time) is a similar system in which business partners share an MRP (Material Requirements Planning) process to provide products exactly when needed, eliminating the need for extra inventory. Park Manufacturing employs both Kan Ban and JIT, sometimes both in unison with many of our customers. In today’s cost conscious and ever changing business environment these are valuable tools to save money, inventory, and other related soft costs to improve our customer’s bottom line.
